What Is a Twin Pipe Tube Clamp?

Definition: A Twin Pipe Tube Clamp — also called a double clamp — is a DIN 3015 Part 3 pipe/tube support clamp whose body has two bores, so it grips and supports two parallel pipes or tubes in a single clamp assembly. The twin-bore polymer body closes around both pipes at once, mounted on one weld plate (or rail / bottom plate), closed by one cover plate and bolt. This holds two lines — typically a supply and return pair, or two parallel runs — together in one compact, vibration-damped support, instead of using two separate single clamps side by side.

The twin (double) series is the space-saving choice wherever two pipes run in parallel. By carrying both lines in one body on a single mount, it halves the number of clamps, plates, and welds compared with two single clamps — while keeping the two lines neatly aligned and equally spaced. It covers tube/pipe from 6 mm to 42 mm OD at working pressures up to 300 bar (3500 PSI).

Why Choose TES-LOK Twin Pipe Clamps?

📦 Two Lines, One Clamp

The twin-bore body holds two parallel pipes in a single assembly on one mount — halving the number of clamps, plates, and welds compared with two single clamps. This saves installation labour, hardware cost, and structural space on paired-line runs.

📐 Built-In Even Spacing

The two bores are set at a fixed, even centre-to-centre spacing, so supply and return lines stay perfectly parallel and equally spaced along the whole run — a neater, more professional pipe layout than two independently positioned single clamps.

🌪 Vibration Damping & Pipe Protection

The polymer body grips both pipe circumferences fully, damping vibration and pressure pulsation on each line and preventing fretting, abrasion, and fatigue cracking — the same pipe protection as single DIN 3015 clamps, for two lines at once.

🛠 DIN 3015 Compatible Hardware

Twin clamps mount on the same DIN 3015 weld plates, bottom plates, and rails as the single-bore light and heavy series — so twin and single clamps can share a common mounting system and rail on the same rack.

✅ Full Material Range

Twin clamp bodies in PP (to +90°C), Polyamide (to +120°C), and aluminium (to +200°C / fire-zone), with weld plates, cover plates, rails, and bolts in zinc-plated carbon steel, SS 304 (A2), or SS 316 (A4) for corrosive and marine service.

🌟 Complete Clamp Group Supply

TES-LOK supplies the complete twin clamp group — twin-bore body halves, weld/bottom plate, cover plate, rail, and bolts — as a matched assembly, or as individual components for spares. ISO 9001:2015 certified with material traceability.

Installation Guide

1
Confirm both pipe ODs: A twin clamp body is sized for a specific pair of bore diameters. Confirm both pipe/tube ODs match the twin body bores (the two bores may be equal or a specified mixed pair). Choose body material (PP, Polyamide, or aluminium) to suit temperature and environment.
2
Mount the base: Weld the weld plate to the structure, or bolt the bottom plate / mounting rail where welding is not permitted. One mount carries both lines.
3
Place the lower clamp half: Seat the lower twin-bore half into the weld plate / rail nut groove.
4
Lay in both pipes and close: Place both pipes/tubes into the two lower bores, then fit the upper twin half over them. The two halves should meet evenly around both pipes.
5
Fit cover plate and bolt: Place the cover plate over the two halves, insert the hex bolt, and tighten to the recommended torque. Both pipes should be gripped firmly and evenly without crushing the polymer body.
6
Set support spacing: Install twin clamps at regular intervals along the paired run per the support-span recommendation for the pipe OD and operating pressure.
⚠ Both pipes must be seated before tightening: On a twin clamp, make sure both pipes are fully seated in their bores before closing and bolting. If one pipe is not properly located, tightening will load the body unevenly — leaving one line poorly gripped and the body distorted. Do not over-tighten; the polymer body must grip both pipes firmly without being crushed.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q1. What is a twin pipe tube clamp?

A twin (or double) pipe tube clamp is a DIN 3015 Part 3 clamp with a twin-bore body that holds two parallel pipes or tubes in a single clamp assembly. Instead of using two separate single clamps for two lines, the twin clamp grips both pipes at once on one mount — saving space, hardware, and installation time while keeping the two lines neatly aligned.

Q2. What is the difference between a twin clamp and two single clamps?

A twin clamp has two bores in one body and supports two pipes on a single mount with one cover plate and bolt. Two single clamps each support one pipe and require separate mounts, plates, and bolts. The twin clamp halves the mounting hardware and welds, saves space, and builds in fixed even spacing between the two lines — making it the better choice wherever two pipes run in parallel.

Q3. Which DIN 3015 part covers the twin clamp?

The twin / double clamp is covered by DIN 3015 Part 3. Part 1 covers the single-bore Light (standard) series, Part 2 covers the single-bore Heavy series, and Part 3 covers the twin / double series that holds two pipes in one body.

Q4. What pipe sizes and pressure does the twin clamp handle?

The TES-LOK twin series covers pipe/tube from 6 mm to 42 mm OD, with working pressures up to 300 bar (3500 PSI). It is ideal for the small- and medium-bore paired hydraulic and instrument lines where twin routing is most common.

Q5. Can a twin clamp hold two different pipe sizes?

Standard twin clamps have two equal bores for a matched pair of pipes. Mixed-bore twin bodies (two different ODs in one clamp) can be supplied for specific paired-line requirements — specify both ODs when ordering. For two lines of very different sizes, two single clamps or a multilayer clamp may be more suitable.

Q6. What is the difference between the twin clamp and the PP twin double-hole clamp?

Both hold two pipes in one body. The twin (double) series here is the DIN 3015 Part 3 clamp available in PP, Polyamide, and aluminium bodies. The PP twin double-hole clamp is the specifically polypropylene double-hole version. If you need the polymer-specific double-hole product, see the PP Twin Double-Hole Clamp page linked in the sidebar.

Q7. Can twin clamps be mounted on a rail like single clamps?

Yes. Twin clamps mount on the same DIN 3015 weld plates, bottom plates, and rails as single-bore clamps, so a row of twin clamps can be carried on a single mounting rail using rail nuts. Twin and single clamps can even share the same rail on a mixed pipe rack.

Q8. Do you supply the complete twin clamp group or individual components?

Both. TES-LOK supplies the complete twin clamp group — twin-bore body halves, weld/bottom plate, cover plate, rail, and bolts — as a matched assembly, or any individual component for spares. We also manufacture the related Light Series, Heavy Series, PP Twin Double-Hole, Aluminium, Construction, and Multilayer clamp products. See the sidebar for the full range.
