What Is a PP Twin Double-Hole Tube Clamp?

Definition: A PP Twin Double-Hole Tube Clamp is a DIN 3015 pipe/tube support clamp with a polypropylene (PP) body containing two side-by-side bores (holes), so it grips and supports two parallel pipes or tubes in a single clamp assembly. The twin-half PP body closes around both pipes at once on one weld plate (or bottom plate), secured by a cover plate and bolt. It is the polypropylene "double-hole" form of the twin clamp — chosen where PP's chemical resistance, light weight, and economy suit the service, and two lines need to be carried together in one compact, vibration-damped clamp.

The double-hole design carries two lines — typically a supply-and-return pair or two parallel runs — in one body, halving the clamps, plates, and welds compared with two single clamps. The PP body adds good chemical resistance and economy for ambient-temperature service, covering tube/pipe from 1/4" to 2½" (6 mm to 76.1 mm OD) in both light-duty and heavy-duty versions.

Why a Polypropylene (PP) Body?

PP PropertyBenefit
Good chemical resistanceResists many oils, fuels, dilute acids/alkalis and washdown chemicals — suits chemical and process areas
Light weightEasy to handle and install; low added load on the structure
EconomicalCost-effective body material for the large volumes used on pipe racks
Vibration dampingResilient PP grips and cushions both pipes, absorbing vibration and pressure pulsation
Corrosion-free bodyThe polymer body itself never corrodes; only the steel hardware needs corrosion grading
Temperature range−40°C to +90°C — suits the great majority of ambient and moderate-temperature pipe runs

Why Choose TES-LOK PP Double-Hole Clamps?

📦 Two Lines, One Clamp

The double-hole PP body holds two parallel pipes on one mount — halving the clamps, plates, and welds versus two single clamps. This saves installation labour, hardware cost, and structural space on paired-line runs.

📐 Built-In Even Spacing

The two bores are set at a fixed, even centre-to-centre spacing, so supply and return lines stay perfectly parallel and equally spaced along the whole run — neater than two independently positioned single clamps.

🧬 Chemical-Resistant PP Body

Polypropylene resists many oils, fuels, dilute acids/alkalis, and washdown chemicals, and never corrodes — ideal for chemical, process, and washdown areas where the body must shrug off aggressive media.

💪 Light & Heavy Duty

Available in light-duty (to ~100 bar) and heavy-duty (above 1500 PSI) versions, so the same double-hole concept covers both standard paired runs and higher-pressure paired hydraulic lines, up to 76.1 mm OD.

🛠 DIN 3015 Compatible Hardware

Double-hole clamps mount on the same DIN 3015 weld plates, bottom plates, and rails as single-bore clamps — so double-hole and single clamps can share a common mounting system and rail on the same rack.

🌟 Complete Clamp Group Supply

TES-LOK supplies the complete PP double-hole clamp group — double-hole body halves, weld/bottom plate, cover plate, rail, and bolts — as a matched assembly, or as individual components for spares. ISO 9001:2015 certified.

Installation Guide

1
Confirm both pipe ODs & duty: A double-hole body is sized for a specific pair of bore diameters (equal or a specified mixed pair). Confirm both pipe/tube ODs match the bores, and choose light-duty or heavy-duty to suit the working pressure.
2
Mount the base: Weld the weld plate to the structure, or bolt the bottom plate / mounting rail where welding is not permitted. One mount carries both lines.
3
Place the lower clamp half: Seat the lower double-hole PP half into the weld plate / rail nut groove.
4
Lay in both pipes and close: Place both pipes/tubes into the two lower bores, then fit the upper double-hole half over them. The two halves should meet evenly around both pipes.
5
Fit cover plate and bolt: Place the cover plate over the halves, insert the hex bolt, and tighten to the recommended torque. Both pipes should be gripped firmly and evenly without crushing the PP body.
6
Set support spacing: Install double-hole clamps at regular intervals along the paired run per the support-span recommendation for the pipe OD and operating pressure.
⚠ Both pipes must be seated before tightening: On a double-hole clamp, make sure both pipes are fully seated in their bores before closing and bolting. If one pipe is not properly located, tightening loads the body unevenly — leaving one line poorly gripped and the PP body distorted. Do not over-tighten; the body must grip both pipes firmly without being crushed.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q1. What is a PP twin double-hole tube clamp?

It is a DIN 3015 pipe/tube clamp with a polypropylene (PP) body containing two side-by-side bores, so it holds two parallel pipes or tubes in one clamp assembly. Instead of two separate single clamps, the double-hole clamp grips both lines at once on one mount — saving space, hardware, and installation time while keeping the two lines neatly aligned.

Q2. What is the difference between the PP double-hole clamp and the twin (double) series clamp?

Both hold two pipes in one body. This PP double-hole clamp is the polypropylene "double-hole" version, offered in light- and heavy-duty PP bodies across 6–76.1 mm OD. The twin / double series page covers the broader DIN 3015 Part 3 twin clamp available in PP, Polyamide, and aluminium bodies. If you specifically need the PP double-hole body, this is the right product; for other body materials or the standard twin range, see the Twin Series page.

Q3. What pipe sizes does the PP double-hole clamp cover?

It covers pipe/tube from 1/4" to 2½" — that is, 6 mm to 76.1 mm OD. This spans small instrument tube up to medium-bore pipe, in both light-duty and heavy-duty versions for different pressures.

Q4. What is the difference between light-duty and heavy-duty versions?

The light-duty double-hole clamp has a lower-profile PP body for working pressures up to about 100 bar (1500 PSI). The heavy-duty version has a thicker PP body with higher grip force for pressures above 1500 PSI and higher-vibration paired runs. Choose heavy duty when the paired lines run at higher pressure or experience greater vibration.

Q5. Why choose a polypropylene (PP) body?

PP offers good chemical resistance (oils, fuels, dilute acids/alkalis, washdown chemicals), is light and economical, damps vibration, and never corrodes. It suits the great majority of ambient and moderate-temperature pipe runs (−40°C to +90°C). For higher temperatures use polyamide (+120°C) or aluminium (+200°C); for fire zones use aluminium.

Q6. Can the double-hole clamp hold two different pipe sizes?

Standard double-hole bodies have two equal bores for a matched pair of pipes. Mixed-bore double-hole bodies (two different ODs in one clamp) can be supplied for specific paired-line requirements — specify both ODs when ordering. For two lines of very different sizes, two single clamps or a multilayer clamp may suit better.

Q7. What hardware material should I use for washdown or corrosive areas?

Use SS 316 (A4) weld plates, cover plates, rails, and bolts for marine, food-hygiene washdown, and corrosive service — SS 316 resists chloride corrosion. SS 304 (A2) suits general washdown and outdoor service. Zinc-plated carbon steel is economical for dry indoor environments. The PP body itself is already corrosion-free; the hardware grade determines overall corrosion performance.

Q8. Do you supply the complete clamp group or individual components?

Both. TES-LOK supplies the complete PP double-hole clamp group — double-hole body halves, weld/bottom plate, cover plate, rail, and bolts — as a matched assembly, or any individual component for spares. We also manufacture the related Light Series, Heavy Series, Twin/Double Series, Aluminium, Construction, Multilayer, and Rail-Nut clamp products. See the sidebar for the full range.
