What Is a Construction Pipe Tube Clamp?

Definition: A Construction Pipe Tube Clamp is a large-diameter DIN 3015 pipe/tube support clamp built for big-bore pipe from 220 mm up to 800 mm OD. It uses the same twin-half clamp principle as the standard light series — two body halves closing around the pipe on a weld plate, secured by a cover plate and bolts — but scaled up dramatically to carry and damp large-diameter pipe that the standard light (to 102 mm) and heavy (to 406 mm) series cannot accommodate. The "construction" designation reflects its use on the large pipe found in construction, water, process, and bulk-handling installations.

Where the light and heavy series cover instrument tube and hydraulic pipe, the construction series steps up to the large structural and process pipework — supporting heavy, large-bore lines while still providing the vibration damping and pipe-surface protection of a polymer clamp body. It covers 220 mm to 800 mm OD at working pressures up to 100 bar (1500 PSI).

Where the Construction Series Fits — Size Coverage

SeriesStandardOD RangePipe Type
Light SeriesDIN 3015 Part 16 mm to 102 mmInstrument tube, small/medium hydraulic pipe
Heavy SeriesDIN 3015 Part 26 mm to 406 mmHP hydraulic pipe, medium/large-bore pipe
Construction SeriesDIN 3015 Part 1 (large-dia)220 mm to 800 mmLarge-bore process, water, structural pipe

The construction series picks up where the heavy series leaves off, extending pipe support all the way to 800 mm OD — ideal for the large pipe used on construction sites, water and effluent mains, bulk material lines, and large process pipework.

Why Choose TES-LOK Construction Pipe Clamps?

📏 Large-Diameter Capability

Supports big-bore pipe from 220 mm to 800 mm OD — far beyond the standard light (102 mm) and heavy (406 mm) series. The construction clamp is the right product when the pipe is simply too large for a standard pipe clamp.

🌪 Vibration Damping on Big Pipe

Even on large-diameter pipe, the polymer clamp body cradles the full circumference, damping vibration and movement and protecting the pipe surface from fretting and abrasion — the same protection principle as smaller DIN 3015 clamps, scaled up.

🛠 Heavy Base & Bolt Construction

Scaled-up weld plates, cover plates, and larger bolts carry the weight and load of large pipe securely. Robust base construction anchors the clamp to the structure for big, heavy pipe runs.

✅ Full Material Range

Clamp bodies in PP (to +90°C), Polyamide (to +120°C), and aluminium (to +200°C / fire-zone), with weld plates, cover plates, and bolts in zinc-plated carbon steel, SS 304 (A2), or SS 316 (A4) for corrosive, marine, and outdoor service.

🏗 Built for Site Conditions

Designed for the demands of construction, water, and bulk-process installations — robust, weather-resistant with SS or zinc-plated hardware, and able to support large pipe reliably on structures, racks, and supports.

🌟 Complete Clamp Group Supply

TES-LOK supplies the complete construction clamp group — large body halves, weld/bottom plate, cover plate, and bolts — as a matched assembly, or as individual components for spares. ISO 9001:2015 certified with material traceability.

Installation Guide

1
Confirm the pipe OD: Measure the large pipe outer diameter and select the construction clamp body sized for that OD (220 mm to 800 mm). Choose body material (PP, Polyamide, or aluminium) to suit the temperature and environment.
2
Mount the heavy base: Weld the weld plate to the structure, or bolt the bottom plate where welding is not permitted. Large pipe carries significant weight — ensure the base and its structural fixing are rated for the loaded pipe and any thermal/vibration loads.
3
Place the lower clamp half: Seat the lower large-diameter clamp half into the base. For big clamps, support the half while positioning.
4
Lower the pipe and close: Lower the large pipe into the cradle of the lower half, then fit the upper half over it. Ensure the halves meet evenly around the large circumference.
5
Fit cover plate and bolt: Place the cover plate over the halves, insert the bolts, and tighten evenly to the recommended torque. The body should cradle the pipe firmly without crushing the polymer.
6
Set support spacing: Install construction clamps at the recommended interval for the large pipe diameter and weight. Large, heavy pipe requires adequate support spacing to control sag and movement.
⚠ Rate the base and structure for large-pipe load: Large-diameter pipe — especially when full of fluid — imposes substantial weight on each clamp and its mounting. Make sure the weld plate, its structural fixing, and the support spacing are designed for the full loaded weight of the pipe. Tighten evenly so the body cradles the pipe without being crushed or distorted.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q1. What is a construction pipe tube clamp?

A construction pipe tube clamp is a large-diameter DIN 3015 pipe support clamp designed for big-bore pipe from 220 mm up to 800 mm OD. It uses the same twin-half clamp principle as standard pipe clamps but scaled up to carry and damp large pipe that the standard light (to 102 mm) and heavy (to 406 mm) series cannot accommodate. It is used for the large pipe found in construction, water, process, and bulk-handling installations.

Q2. What size range does the construction series cover?

The construction series covers pipe from 220 mm to 800 mm OD — the large-diameter range above the standard heavy series (which tops out at 406 mm). This makes it the correct choice for big process, water, and structural pipe. For pipe below 220 mm, the light or heavy series is normally used.

Q3. How is the construction clamp different from the heavy series?

The heavy series (DIN 3015 Part 2) is for high-pressure and large hydraulic pipe up to 406 mm OD. The construction series is for even larger pipe — 220 mm to 800 mm OD — typically lower-pressure, large-bore process, water, and structural pipework. In short: heavy series = high pressure / large hydraulic pipe; construction series = very large diameter pipe support.

Q4. What working pressure does the construction clamp support?

The construction clamp supports working pressures up to about 100 bar (1500 PSI). The construction series is primarily a large-diameter pipe-support product, so the emphasis is on carrying and damping big pipe rather than on the very high pressures handled by the small-bore heavy series.

Q5. What clamp body material should I choose?

Polypropylene (PP) is the economical standard for general service to +90°C. Polyamide (nylon) handles higher temperature (+120°C) and greater toughness. Aluminium bodies are for high-temperature or fire-zone service to +200°C. Match the body to the operating temperature and environment, and the hardware (zinc-plated steel, SS 304, or SS 316) to the corrosion environment.

Q6. What hardware material should I use outdoors or in water/marine service?

Use SS 316 (A4) weld plates, cover plates, and bolts for marine, offshore, water-treatment, and coastal service — SS 316 resists chloride corrosion. SS 304 (A2) suits general outdoor and washdown service. Zinc-plated carbon steel is economical for dry, sheltered environments. The polymer body is corrosion-resistant; the hardware grade determines corrosion performance.

Q7. How should large pipe be supported with construction clamps?

Large-diameter pipe, especially when full of fluid, is heavy — so the weld plate, its structural fixing, and the support spacing must be designed for the full loaded weight. Install clamps at adequate intervals to control sag and movement, and ensure the structure can carry the combined pipe and fluid load at each clamp point. Tighten evenly so the body cradles the pipe without crushing.

Q8. Do you supply the complete construction clamp group or individual components?

Both. TES-LOK supplies the complete construction clamp group — large body halves, weld/bottom plate, cover plate, and bolts — as a matched assembly, or any individual component for spares. We also manufacture the related Light Series, Heavy Series, Twin/Double Series, PP Twin Double-Hole, Aluminium, Multilayer, and Rail-Nut clamp products. See the sidebar for the full range.
